    This sold very quickly after appearing on EBay, have we seen the “1600 feet” on the dial before?

    No, very strange, it's different font and the print looks a slightly blurry and pale, like the paint was running out. It looks like it was added as an afterthought, perhaps to comply with the requirements of a particular client. i.e. "The depth rating must be clearly stated on the dial".

      The 1600 feet print appears ever so slightly crooked compared to the Captain Cook type. As Tim notes, it is clearly a different colour of white as well. Add to that, 1600 feet is very nearly 500 metres and this Captain Cookhas no outwardly visible modifications. Other than the very few professional saturation divers out their, almost no professional divers were even diving to 200 metres in the 1970s. Without some kind of documentation or verification from Rado I am somehat skeptical.
