  • 1950s Rado

    Came across this while scouring the web, it was overpriced so I passed, but great condition. The back cover caught my eye, really cool design. Interesting there is no reference number, would have expected a five digit number for this era.

    What a clean example! I've not seen that particular style of back either, that I can recall.
    I have to wonder if the ovoid field in which the R-line logo is engraved was provided as a blank to various manufacturers, and Rado added their own name.
    Also, perhaps there is a reference number inside.

      It is in great condition, hence the asking price no doubt. I must agree with you re the case back Brad, it doesn't look like it was made by Rado, no care has been taken with the alignment of the R line logo, it's off center left to right and top to bottom.

        I have asked the seller for a movement pic, if they get back to me I’ll post it. The back of my 18k has similar ovoid branding
