    Hello everyone,
I am located in Ontario, Canada. I have an interest in watches and seem to gravitate to some of the vintage Rado designs. I recently picked up a very nice Rado DiaStar 9 (I'll post picture soon). I am looking at a Rado that is branded as Black Pearl on the face from a local seller but I can't find any information about it. He seems to think that it comes from the 1970s and he is asking a fair amount of money for it I think. I was just curious if anybody here knew anything about this model or had even heard of it. I wish that he had let me open the case. He says that he'll take pictures of the movement for me.

Hello and welcome. I must say that Black Pearl is a new model name for me, but that's nothing new given the number of different models Rado produced over the years.
I'm sure that someone else will be able to give a more detailed opinion, are there any pics you can share?

Hello and Welcome! I am also Canadian, though quite a bit west of you. I have been to your lovely city.

Black Pearl is a legit Rado name. It may be older than 1970s as the ones I have seen have had the old five digit reference number. I believe the ref number on the back should be 11830 and it may well contain an ETA 2452. When you get some pictures post them and we may well be able to verify it's authenticity.

Check the list here (there are 2 Black Pearl reference numbers):

I bet if you search for prior posts, we must have discussed Black Pearls in the past dozen years or so!
        Welcome to you MG.

I never even thought to check there, which is something I normally do. As we know, the 11831 would be a gold plate version.
