Friday folks, the second one for 2019 and already this year is shaping up to be like no other. As I've said previously the weather seems to be getting wilder and more intense down here. Last Saturday my wife fell victim to it when she was struck by lightning while out walking. She had to be revived by paramedics and was lucky to escape with 3 nasty burns. As a result she was taken to a specialist burns unit at one of the major Sydney hospitals where she underwent surgery for skin grafts on Wednesday. She's over the worst of it now but will be quite some time fully recovering. We live in interesting times. Much of this week was spent making the 160k round trip to visit and take treats to keep her spirits up. I did manage to get to the beach for a walk and a swim on Tuesday afternoon, a welcome chance to take a breather and unwind. Here's the watches that accompanied me through this crazy week

Last weekend. The Accustar, still going strong.

The Blue diver on Monday, as I wore a blue shirt, and again on Tuesday cause I couldn't be bothered changing.......the watch, not the shirt.

    Tuesday, in it's natural environment.

Avoca, another of my local beaches. A bit busier than usual as it's still summer school holidays.

Wednesday, some bling to brighten things up.

I was running late on Thursday morning so I threw the Dive chrono on cause it was ready to go.

The Aster hardly ever gets worn, so it's my funk this Friday. Personally, I'm hoping for better luck this weekend, although when I think about it, we had the very best of luck last weekend, can't ask for better luck than that. Good luck to all of you too.

Sorry to hear of your wife's incident mate, must have come as quite a 'shock'... (sorry!)
As you will see a little later, our watches have intersected again.
A bunch of lovely photos, as always,
of which I am going to choose the Aster as my watch of the week.

So sorry to hear about your wife Tim. I hope she has the most complete recovery possible and I hope it happens relatively quickly.

I am going to pick your Aster as well.

My week was nothing like yours Tim, but I agree with you about weather changes. Here is my week.

The weekend was taken up with the CC MK II

Also related to dive watches, I started studying for this

        Wednesday turned funky

        Thursday carried on from Wednesday

Today, more maintenance in shop so less funk, more tool, and some overlap with Tim.

Wishing your wife comfort in her recovery. Burns can be very trying. Decided on some lesser seen models this week. 46D88246-8121-441D-BF3F-8E129A4E7EC0.jpeg 70C36EE4-9EDE-430A-BECA-1DE4B6E20115.jpeg 14EDE60B-2034-4996-8990-D3F4C9EFE5CA.jpeg B5476D06-D4E8-4DBA-AFC8-24B1CF7825E3.jpeg 75C67D1A-F007-44B9-BE11-5D0455A6C156.jpeg

Great lineup Kevin. I especially love the Horse. The markers and hands remind me of my much loved Conway.

Hard to go wrong with a Tiger and a Manhattan.

I thought you were talking about the dial color? Thatís a clean one, Nice! I need to thin out my collection, just have a hard time parting with any.

                          Thanks. I still miss it.

No, I meant the hobnail markers and the long stick hands. Mine had a really cool prismatic dial. The vertical lines on it would shift in different light and sometimes even turn into fewer verticals.

Thanks Henry, she's in good hands and her recovery is progressing well. Great to see you're doing the dive course, no doubt some more serious waterproof photographic equipment will be in the pipeline too. Your LR is my favourite this week.
