All my watches are tough, so I mostly just wear them, with the exception of the Rolex. The Rolex is tough, but it's the 2017 50th anniversary so I've been mostly keeping it in the drawer. The rest I wear for most everything. Glycine DC4, 24hr is my daily watch these days.

I generally grab my Scurfa Diver One when I need a beater. This is the older 300m model, without the He escape valve. It's just a bit thinner than the newer 500m models with the He valve. It's far from being a svelte watch, but it's thin enough to not get in the way. I didn't care for the thickness of the newer one, despite the fact that it had much better lume.

I've been wearing nothing but g-shocks for the past 4 or 5 months. They are perfect beaters, except I have never thought of them as such. Herewith in order my beaters over the last 15 to 20 years: IWC Aquatimer 3536 ti; Muhle Glashutte Nautic Timer; Seiko SBBN015; Muhle Glashutte Nautic Timer (no not the same one, that would assume I was smart enough to keep it); Seiko Turtle. All dive bezels. All analog. All but one automatic's. The IWC would have benefitted atom better luminescence. All could take a beating and deal with extremes in temperature. All kept (or keep, still have the Turtle) excellent time. All but the Turtle hug the wrist perfectly. (I should find a better strap.)
