Thread: Seiko Stargate military

    Default Seiko Stargate military

Here is my latest project. Not quite what I had envisioned but still I wanted to share. I thought that the black version of the Stargate could make a nice military watch. I still think it does. For my first trial I used an original Seiko military dial and some Seiko hands, the hands are dark chrome framed from the white dialed Seiko FFF. Not bad looking overall but I thought I would like it more...

    Please enjoy a few photos.

Speaking as a guy that was military for 26 years, I like that watch.

Having that inner 13-24 hour ring doesn't make a watch "military". Legibility, functionality, reliability, accuracy, and affordability do that. This one meets all of my basic requirements.

I'd wear it anywhere, and that's what counts.

I like to look at life the way my Corgi, Phil, does. Don't sweat the small stuff... and everything's small stuff.

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.

I dig it. Looks the biz and as George pointed out easy to tell the time.

That's exactly my thought too... I wanted to make a easily readable watch, different from the original and inspired to that type of dial. I like the result but I am kind of thinking of how it could be improved...

It does have a nice look overall, but I think it's because it is a great base watch...
