    Default Aubergine Certina Diamaster!

it finally arrived, the aubergine diamaster!
the seller describen it as unused. and i must say, thats the only right part of the description: its absolute NOS!!!!
first of all, the seller offered it as a Citicen/Rado watch with a dark case.
i thought, okay. lets check the pics. this one was the only pic he offered:

he has sent some mopre pics with the same bad quality, but he said: itīs not a Citicen, itīs a certina automatic with the rado letters below.
i thought: this must be a Certina Diamaster! i tried a bid on it and won it, i was the only bidder...
it arrived today, enjoy the first pics:

(simply the lelative to the Diastar Magic, eh?)

the RADO ref.nr. is 625.1218.34, no certina markings or letters. the only signs are some little scratches of annoying case opening experiments.

the movement is a ETA 2789, Certina signed with the usual Rado signs on the plate:

inside the caseback the Certina signs:

As you can see, the case and the sapphire crystal is absolute flawless, also the dial, hands and markers are perfect:

finally a wristy of this big find:

    thanks for looking,

Nice grab! That sure is the cousin of my old DS 18 Magic. Long date and mint. Congratulations. That is a beauty!

    Congrats, Marcus!

Very nice find! Not as cheap as my Certina DM/DS 515, but still a bargain.
    And even with German day!
    Best regards, Mike

    Default Congratulations

Congratulations to a super watch. It is the exact match to the Diastar Magic in aubergine I got from Henry.
Wear it with pleasure and in good health.
I can see that you have only shaved your legs and not your wrist. Good so. :-))
    Cheers

I think there was a guy in Germany selling a bunch of NOS NSAs, including Certina bracelets, on the bay. His start prices were less than Squinky's, but still high.I think John Pat got a pile of stuff ffrom him for quite a reasonable price.

    I think...

Maybe he mixed German and Swiss.
But thereīs one only with 22 mm lugs.
This one looks nice, surely you can polish away the golden stripes.
Not even too difficult to keep the prices under Squinkyīs.
You should have bought a gold-tone Certina:

i must say, squinky is a kind salesman, gentle offers have never been a problem for him!
