Hi!
Two arrivals today - a DiaStar 1/E and, as cheap bycatch from the same seller, a nice GP Certina dresswatch from the 1950s.
The Certina, 30 mm without crown and with 16 mm lugs, got a smooth polishing with silver polish and a XL leather band in dark brown(I hate flex-bracelets). After grinding with sandpaper(600 grain) and polishing with SS-polish, the acrylic crystle is wearable again. Case and movement are in excellent condition, the dial looks good when you wear it. The spots are visible with a loupe or on macro pics only.

Movement, a nice Certina inhouse 23-20 with 15 jewels:
The DiaStar 1/E, as Mr. falkon-eye Marcus already espied, has a hairline at the crown, but visible with a loupe or on macro pics only. The case was very dirty and the back completely scratched.

At arrival:
The case got a polish with an electrical toothbrush and toothpaste, the back with sandpaper(600 grain) and SS-polish.
After that, the back and the NSA went bathing in the US-cleaner.
Inside I expected an AS movement - what I found was a nice GP 25 jw-ETA 2783 with Triovis fine regulation in a condition like fresh from the factory:
The water of the US-cleaner changed itīs colour from clear to black and the NSA with Rado-clasp looks fine again:
I still have to add some links to get the right size for me and a new spring - the old one came out broken.
I donīt want to pay Squinkyīs astronomical prices so I will enquire for a number of reproduced ones at a German spring factory.
I also still have to fix the anchor or replace the whole dial, I still have the same in NOS-condition. Itīs my first DiaStar with a quadratical faceted sapphire crystle. Iīll add a wristshot when itīs completely finished.
