    Default So, Adam...a question...

How do they get those screws in the bezel?

    Default Easy...

...they screw in from the back:

The screws go all the way through to the bezel and secure all three parts of the case together (caseback, barrel and bezel). The hex bolts on the the bezel are what the screws thread into.

    Regards,
    Adam

    Default Nuts!

That was simple. I guess the screwdriver slots are just for show.

The slots are used to hold the bolts in place when assembling.

Wouldn't the hexagonal recesses accomplish the same thing?

If you look at the bezel, you see that the bolt heads are countersunk into the surface in holes that are the same hexagonal shape as the boltheads themselves. This would hold the bolts in place while assembling, eliminating the need for the slots.
