  • Can you recommend a watch specialist in the UK ?

Hi, i am just about to take delivery of my first Rado, The seller has told me that it requires a service, but I dont know of anyone that i can trust with the watch.
Can anyone recommend a trustworthy watch specialist who will take real care with the watch here in the UK?
    Cheers

I've always used http://watchguy.co.uk/ . Christian Dannemann is a German watchmaker living here in the UK. I've always found him excellent. His prices are competitive! That said, any professional watchmaker is going to charge you at least 100 for a service, so you need think how much your Rado is worth and if you can justify servicing it!
Local "hobbyist" watchguys often do their own services and you may well be able to find one in your local area who will service your watch cheaper. Often they have no insurance though but thats the risk you'll take with a cheaper service.

Thanks Chris, ill send Christian an e-mail and see where i go from there.
Im hoping that someone near me will let me know that they exist via this forum and i'll be able to source a good local watchmaker.
      Thanks again

There you go Andrew, study these 2 and I'm sure you'll find a local. The British Watch & Clockmakers' Guild, British Horological Institute .
