Also, I have long wondered why there is no RGM forum, considering our benefactors. In many ways I think it could dovetail with the Rado forum, giving EoT another exclusive specialist forum.

Is that my four cents because it's two ideas?
I too like the idea of an RGM forum.
I've mentioned it to Roland Murphy, but he may need to think about how it meshes with the brand's on-line marketing strategy.

      Guys,

firstly my thanks to Brad, Henry, RGM and all responsible for the Rado forum which has been one of my go-to places on the internet for many years now. There is no friendlier forum on the internet and I really appreciate the friends I have come to know here over the years.

I am not suggesting any real changes .. the current 'no real rules' format works well enough for me and I like that the Rado forum has, over the years, become the unofficial home for Technos, Louis Rossel, general stone-cased watches (Waltham, Oris) and the like .. I suspect we're all into these watches for the very same reason we love Rado.

I can offer my help if you would like with the database of case numbers, movements, model names etc. I am a computer programmer (this is what funds the Rados) and knocking together a database with, potentially, the ability to post new models and photos as they become available is something I can do.

One last little suggestion .. can the number of PMs in the mailbox be upped a bit? it's currently very, very limiting!

      cheers!

      Dave.

Hey Dave, great news!, my paltry efforts might finally blossom into something useful. Apart from the data available in those few "number threads" we really need the members to dig deep and part with a bit more information and if you can make it easy to input, that just might happen.

That is wonderful Dave, and greatly appreciated. Tim has done more than a bit of work and putting it somewhere where it is easily found and easily edited is a pretty great thing.

As to the private messages, I agree but I have no idea if that can be done on this platform.

            Hello.
Could either Henry or Brad contact Jamie to get rid of the "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts." -list, for me it is a pain in the neck. If some threads don't interest me, then I don't want to study them, even if the program reminds me a hundred times. It's just a bother. I hope I am not the only one to request this.
Cheers and have a nice day
            Peter

Another thing that I think everyone would prefer: why can't we upload our pictures from our PC like in the Rado Forum, when we want to sell equipment? Shouldn't be so hard to do. Please ask Jamie. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the suggestions and kudos, Dave.
Regarding the request above--apparently you are way more popular than I am.

I'll check out what we can do about altering the limits on PMs.
                Cheers,
                Brad

Hi Peter, I'm not familiar with that notification. Maybe I'm here too often for it to kick in.

Henry, are you aware of it?
Maybe we can check with Jaimie or I can look to see if it's an Admin setting available for me to alter.

How about opening a Chat Room? I think many Forum-members would like that .
Regards Brad and thanks again for your good work,
                    Peter

I think this is an excellent idea. Rather than one common chat though, have one for each forum. I am sure that it would attract a great deal more people. Obviously, the moderators of the forums would have to keep an eye out for abusers - not an issue in the dive watch forum now as we have more moderators.

There's link at the bottom of Scott's posts cause he has photos of his collection hosted there, when you've been here a while you'll see some others who have similar links but that's the personal choice of those members to do so. Some good ideas there and I think we'll get there eventually. EoT is staffed by volunteers and kindly sponsored by RGM so we'll just have to patient. As you've pointed our the greatest asset is the collective knowledge of the membership, as far as Rado information goes, there's nowhere else that even comes close and that includes the company itself, we know considerably more about their vintage watches than they do.

Tim I use photobucket and don't pay anything.
