I've owned the reverse Panda since last October and
like it more and more the longer I own it ...

Really excited to get this one...

On a more casual note, I've added the new Promaster ABC from Casio with the Sapphire Crystal.
I really like the upscale analog G-Shocks, and this ana-digi spoke to me....

    Great Memorial Days !

Nice stuff, Kurt. I do like those Newman Daytona-style pieces.
A true Rolex version would cost far more than I would be willing to pay--thus the homages are enticing!
    Enjoy,

Exactly, and they're way too small for me. (36-37mm). The originals
we're not called Paul Newman's but 'exotic dials,' and were very
unpopular. It wasn't until an Italian journalist saw Paul Newman wearing
      one that they took off.

I did a search yesterday and the site that came up showed them averaging
350K in pristine condition. All that for a Valjoux 72 movement and acrylic
      crystal with lousy bracelet.

It's funny how things catch fire.

LOL. $350k now? Nutty. Hardly worth $35k, unless it was owned by Paul Newman.

It's interesting how the unpopular watches sometimes fetch the highest prices. I
owned a Patek 5020 (TV shape) 12 years ago that I eventually traded to Paul
          Duggan for a Lange Double-Split.

I bought if from a Canadian seller and we met at a Holiday Inn (in the restaurant)
in upstate New York at mid-afternoon. The restaurant was closed because it was between the lunch and dinner shift, so we sat there at a table and finished our transaction. I'm sure to anyone watching, it must have looked like something illegal going on, with a table full of
watches (trade) and a fairly substantial pile of cash.

That same watch today is worth over 2 1/2 times what I sold/traded it for, and almost ten
times what I paid for it. It makes you wonder how high these 'originally undesirable'
          watches will go.

Here's one in yellow gold; mine was in the more desirable rose ...

It's not impossible to think that the idea that a mass-produced man-made object is "worth" anything extra merely for once having been owned by someone famous for pretending to be people he wasn't is a little short on sense

Now that you've put it that way...I have little reason to question whether I agree.
