First MMFF for 2019. Many of you are probably still away enjoying a well earned break, but to those of you who are logged on, welcome to another year on the world's first and best Rado forum. Hopefully there'll be lots more interesting discussion and discovery about these wonderful watches. Let's see what you've been wearing this week. Here's mine.

Last weekend, lots of pool time, so this was perfect.

    Weekend.jpg

New Years Eve and day, a celebration watch. Champagne Goldstone Balboa.

    Tue.jpg

Wednesday, my translucent Black Manhattan for the second day of the year.

    Wed.jpg

A favourite Diastar XL made the trip to Sydney on Thursday.

    Thus.jpg

And a bit of a story to today's watch. A couple of weeks ago I spotted this grooved Balboa on the web,
    i-img510x510-1545116737w3gvp2829383.jpg

regulars will know that I have one very similar to this, however mine has a badly marked linen patterned dial. I also own this sunburst dialled Balboa.
    image_24275.jpg

Since it would appear that the grooved Balboa on the web has the same dial, it inspired me to get the tools out and do some surgery. I had to swap the 2824 out of my Grooved Balboa as the donor dial didn't fit. So now it has this slightly older, far more beautiful, gp 2783 beating inside.

I suppose you could argue that it's a Franken of sorts. I'll wear that though, because....well........now I can wear it!

So here it is , some Groovy Funk for the first Friday of 2019. Have a good weekend everyone.

    Happy New Year Tim.
A lovely selection to start the year off, I have to pick your grooved Balboa as my watch of the week.
I was in for the one recently up for auction but was outbid at the last minute.

        Great Balboa aquisition, Congrats!
It reminds me on Miles´ thread from back in the day when he showed up with the first ever known "Grooved Balboa". He smashed it, for sure!
        Very nice!
I´ve been lazy this week so i´m still wearing the 515.
Great news: the 11 to 6 crack visible in the sellers pics (also in the pic below) ended up in being a Quartz vein..
Also note the high bronce coloured Pyrite percentage on the dial, a interesting example..

Congrats Marcus, it's a great looking slice of Lapis.

My first week of 2019 features only four watches.

A quiet New Year meant that I wore the same watch on Monday and Tuesday.

                WP_20190101_10_39_45_Pro (2).jpg

Back to work on Wednesday with the early Diastar 1.

                WP_20190102_18_47_07_Pro (2).jpg

                SpaceWing Thursday.

                WP_20190103_14_30_02_Pro (2).jpg

And a seldom worn chunk of funk today with the blue goldstone Balboa.

                WP_20190104_18_38_33_Pro (2).jpg

                Have a great weekend guys.

For me this week it's the SpaceWing, perhaps the best in a number of great acquisitions for you in 2018.

Only 3, but outstanding pieces every one. I particularly like that model Diastar Chrono.

Really late for last week. Some great pieces here this week. Of special note Tim's grooved Balboa, Scott's SpaceWing, Pimp's 515 and any Manny or shell Sapphire.

My week was a bit of a blur.

New Year's Eve and Day, the watch I wear almost every New Years.

                          PC312270.jpg

                          Then old logo ks.

Continuing the German theme, or in this case, German-ish...

Finally Funky Friday saw the CC Mk I V2 back on the BoR with scuba clasp. That watch stayed on until this morning.

How do you like that MeisterSinger, Hank?
I'm unsure I would enjoy a single-handed watch, as much as I am hesitant to splurge on a regulator dial.
It just seems like unnecessary work, in a way.

I like it fine. I have no trouble telling the time with it. I don't wear it as often as I should because I find it just a touch small. It's a small wearing 36 on a narrow tapered strap. My other choice was 41 in a much more modern case and I knew I'd find it enormous. I usually wear it after the Antea ks. At 35.5 it's technically smaller, though it wears larger than the Neo.
