I won this today, a rare piece indeed, it appears to be running, with a clean face, but in need of some serious TLC

Looks like it should polish up nicely.

        Congratulations John.
That should be a challenging, but fruitful, restoration project.

Congrats JP, I have the ss version. I think yours will look a whole lot better after 20 minutes in the US cleaner.

            Congrats, John!

            A very rare find, indeed!
Very unusual the dial without Rado and the frame of the date window with rounded edges.
Im sure it will look fine again after some polishing.
            Best regards, Mike

I note the crown is different on yours, mine has an octagonal R crown.

Nice find, John. I wonder what happened with the RADO name that should be there. Also, the crown appears to be a replacement.
Still, it's quite an interesting piece--can you share the Ref # and the movement caliber used?
                  Good luck with it,
                  Brad

Is that the light, or is the anchor a modern flat one? In that picture it doesn't look like a vintage one.

Hi Brad, if it's like mine, it's one of those bayonet case backs that only has Patent numbers, case number is between the lugs. Movement should be AS 1581.
