  • OT- Latest watch painting.

Brian, Fuzzy B, took delivery of this last night. It's been a long time coming for him, but well worth the wait I think. I ended up re-thinking the way I paint watch movements and even though the end result looks similar to my previous pieces the change in approach is quite radical. It is not only more accurate than previous paintings, I achieved by showing less detail and by painter more "loosely". I think of all the watch movement pieces I've done this ranks right up with the second painting I did of the Southbend PW movement. This was the second painting involved in the trade to Brian for his RGM Model 400,

I like to sketch the object several times until I get the feel for the natural curves of that object.

I paint so many layers of transluscent colours, up to 12 on any given object that I like to frame the objects out with a basic undercoat.

    Details, details, details.

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had painting the wool!l

I think he is Scott. He did manage to wait until he got home to open the package and he said his kids were as excited as he was.

Fantastic! I have a soft spot for your architectural work, but this watch piece ranks up among my favorite of your paintings, Hank.
        Excellent stuff.

          Thanks Brad!

Brian now has one of each as the other piece was the Ambler Theater.

I may need to commission paintings of a watch and the theatre in my town as well!

That could easily be arranged. Cool theatre.
