  • Back when the colorful re-dials first appeared on eBay...

    ...they were the subject of frequent ridicule here.
    This image is one I made from pieces of 2 or 3 watches being offered at the time (2008-ish?).

    IIRC, this is a Thai model from the 1970s that should not have the early-1960s Starliner name on the dial (and certainly not those colors!):



    I call it Mutant Rado--I thought you might find it amusing.

      I think you're right on the money Henry, couldn't find a Shooting Star, but I found a Silver one and the similarities are undeniable.

        Silver Star. Yes. For some reason I have always called them Shooting Stars

            It's dreadful, isn't it? The re-dial even involved the removal of the crystals from the markers. I hope no one bought them...or used them for parts or restoration.
