Rado changed the font on the 45 mm Captain Cook and went with all caps. They no longer have the terrible kerning issue between the a and the i so it is no longer the Capta in Cook but they could still tighten up the T and the A a bit.

It sure is much easier to read than the awful font used by a lot of the teams in the World Cup this year. The surname of the German midfield player Sami Khedira is nearly unreadable.

Many others are quite as bad...and I think the image above makes it easier to read than what I've seen on the TV.

Nice Navy blue, is the bezel insert ceramic? can't tell looking at the pic.

Yes, concave ceramic. The bezel angles inwards towards the raised box sapphire crystal. I have the 37mm version.

He's a little stiff on defense at times.

I hate that font so much that I often can't remember what it's called. It's one of those 1970s futurist fonts and they are all, without fail, dreadful.

Honestly though, after nearly 40 years of working with type, I hate all fonts with the exception of one or two that I can stand.

And the Zeds look like Twos. Awful:

I love that you called them Zeds instead of Zees. Thanks Brad.

It's a minor concession to the predominantly non-American make-up of the group!
Also, working for an English/Swedish company with the initials A and Z, i am exposed to a lot of Zed.

That inward bezel and dial are a piece of art.

Yeah I get why they modernized the 45mm, but also appreciate the true to original form 37mm.

I love how the ridiculously thick sapphire crystal distorts around the edges.

Me too and I bought the 37mm, not the 45.
