I was following that one also. A lot of money for a broken case.

I thought something similar. I was looking at it and thought it might be a bit much to pay for a dial.....

As a matter of interest how much did it sell for, I've not been in the market this year and so wasn't watching.

It sold for $155.93 plus fees.

Agreed, that's a lot of money for a movement and dial.

I'd have to say, if I were in the market for an ammolite Balboa, that price would be pretty enticing, depending upon how much I'd have to pay (and how long to wait) for a donor case of a suitable color.
As you chaps know, they are exceeding uncommon.

I'm with you Brad. I think that is a perfectly reasonable price for an ammolite dial to the right buyer. If I were still shopping for one I likely would have paid that price.

I missed that one but I must say that, as with my current ammolite Balboa, I'd swap that to a silver case anyway as I think the pink cases cause the dial to be a bit swamped.

I nabbed that, slightly higher price than I really wanted to pay but I have several donor case options.

Nice one JP, I can say from experience what rewarding exercise this will be. It appears to be a nice piece of Ammolite, looking forward to seeing some decent photos when it arrives. Do you have a spare bracelet or will you be restoring the one in the photo?
