  • New project arrives

As I said last Friday I was expecting some arrivals this week. These two are part of a project that I hope will end up being pretty special.

    The idea is fairly simple.

    THIS:

    GOES WITH THIS:

If you remember how often Miles showed his Ammolite Magic in the last 12 months, you'll know what got this started. Scott very kindly pointed out this damaged Ammolite Balboa to me and I spotted the other junk copper cased Balboa for sale, the synergy was impossible to resist! Neither watch works, however the Ammolite's movement is fairly clean and I'm sure a trip to my friendly watchmaker and a little cash will see it right.

Always happy to help by pointing out suitable watches for you to buy
I look forward to seeing the results, my own ammolite Franken is a favourite in these parts.

I was watching that ammolite too, glad to see it went to a forum member. I'll be waiting on the finished product.

That's the way to get a great watch for little money Tim. I'm sure you will enjoy the final product.

If ever there was a better example of a case for a little "kit-bashing" than an ammolite dial I do nto know what it would be. Congratulations Tim.

                      How it looks now.

This is how it looks in the replacement case with a modern GP mesh bracelet supplied by Scott. The colours are , as you would expect, quite changeable depending on the light. All it needs now is a service.

Hubba hubba. It reminds me of something I owned for a while and passed along to a member here:

                        Enjoy!!
