    Hi All

I almost have a complete 404 in parts (with some to spare) and am wondering whether it is worth combining them to create another watch.

I think all I am missing is a crown and screws for the case back, though a new crystal would probably help too.

Given the condition of the dial is this worthwhile and would it be blasphemous to consider using these parts to create a modern interpretation of what a 404 from Rado might look like today?

I'd appreciate your thoughts, criticisms, observations, general advice before deciding whether to commence on this project.

    Thanks

I think a redial is better than spare parts in a box. Go for it!!!

Pablo is right. There is nothing wrong with a proper redial. Sometimes it is the best choice.

          Hi All

This is back on track, the dial will be painted soon and it will all be getting put together BUT i tried to put it together to check it worked / what was missing and noticed that the dial feed don't engage on the crown side of the mech.

          Has the "chassis" been damaged?
          Is this mech missing something?
Are my dial feet shorter than they should be?
          Am i not understanding something?

          Additionally

is anyone making the blue rubber gaskets?
is there a good place to buy a split crown?
how is the Rado anchor fitted into the dial - it looks like you could pop it out prior to painting?

          Thanks
