  • New glass: The ongoing Manhattan saga

    So I'd bought this Manhattan sometime ago, as I have previously posted:







    In fixing it I had done a very poor job on the case and turned it into one of those blobby Asian messes. I did manage to get the crystal so that the crazing only showed up from certain angles.

    Inchmurrin has kindly sold me an uncrazed Manhattan crystal in pretty decent shape, for which I am extremely grateful. After considerable work repairing the damage I did to the case here is what I've got now:

      Very smart it looks too!

      That has made a real difference and the case is looking fine too. Glad it worked out Henry.

      BTW I've got a spare case in reasonable condition if anyone wants to resurrect a poor Manhattan!

                  Several years ago, I had a 404 crystal made by JZ Watch Crystals in cleveland. It was very reasonable (less than $50).
