  • On the topic of bracelets and clasps...

I took some quick snaps of a variety of bracelets and clasps. I tried to pick some interesting ones and show both the clasp logos and the signatures stamped on the inside.

These are all distinctive, IMO. The fish-tail model is sought-after and well made; the "beads of rice" model is a typical vintage type, but this example has the Rado horses and an expandable clasp; the Starliner and Marstron bracelets represent styles I have only seen on these particular Rado models. Note that they also share the same clasp.

Not sure why the text is fuzzy--my apologies.

Not all authentic Rado bracelets have a Rado signature inside the clasp, but most will have an outward sign of branding.

Please feel free to share your photos of bracelets & clasps for reference.
    Cheers,
    Brad

Does anyone recognize this maker's logo?

I spotted this ca. 1970s-80s Rado clasp on a ladies' bracelet watch being offered via Yahoo. Does anyone know what maker this represents?

    Thanks in advance,

      Hi Brad!

The maker is the company Patent Demanded(brevet deposée).
Just kiddin - sorry, no idea who´s behind the "B" and that logo inner the hexagons. Probably a company in the French Speaking part of Switzerland or in France.
I´ll take a few shots of my bracelets inner the next days.
BTW, none of my BoR-bracelets has an expandable clasp - that seems to be very rare.
      Best regards, Mike

        Brad,

This is excellent. I was wondering about the different Rado bracelets styles that are available for vintage Rado watches. This gives me something to go by.

BTW: I have a "fishtail" bracelet in the mail from Jay!

That expandable clasp does seem to be very hard to find. Nakahiro-san has a nice exhibition of it on his Captain Cook page.

Looks a lot like the late 1950s Exacto bracelet clasp--just imageine the script E in place of the anchor. I'll try to locate a photo...

Hi Brad, Here's the much maligned CC Mk11 with an interesting bracelet.

An adjustable clasp, with separate centre links. The central link comes to point!! A bit fiddly to put on and take off, but quite comfortable; very flexible. Similar I think to your BOR adjustable clasp bracelet. To adjust you push the metal tab on the clasp and it comes apart.

BTW, I have some bracelets from a company called Bambi which I got with some Rados. Very well made and solid. Could be the bracelet maket you asked about in your post above. The logo as "B".

I bought this mainly for the bracelet as I had seen photos of it and did not know if it was Rado. Signed Rado, but no maker's mark. Looks authentic, though.

                Cheers,
                ken

I'm so sick and tired of my friends who can't handle their alcohol. The other night they dropped me three times while carrying me to the car

Nice! That's just like the one on Nakahiro's site (posted elsewhere in this thread?).
