    Unfortunately I had to be in Sydney or I could well have witnessed this in person.

    What a shame you couldn't witness that in person, that would have been an incredible sight. Hope it managed to get back out to sea ok.

      Yeah he was fine, they were in there again today but I couldn't find any video of it. It's one of the primo whale watching spots on the Central Coast, they'll be coming through there thick and fast for the next couple of months, he's just come in for a look, the rest of the pod was probably just a little further out.

          Really cool, Tim. I had one break the surface up to its tail
          just off Hereford Inlet in Stone Harbor New Jersey.

          My sailboat is 27' feet long, and he looked as big as we
          were.

          My son, who was 12 at the time, almost had a heart attack.
