  • Sometimes eBay really works...

I'm amazed at how many times an item listed at low or no reserve fails to meet it's proper value (esp. when I'm selling, it seems).
Once in awhile, the true value of something obscure is reached.
With a few hours to go, the auction below was stalled around $200 (my bid, which stood for days). It jumped up nearer to true market value, IMO (hammer price: a little shy of $1200):

Platinum and gemstomes, with a movement by a noted Swiss maker.

It's a pity the dial has as much damage as it does. It suggests that the crown is the weak point of entry for moisture, doesn't it?

If it's really platinum and diamonds, I'd say that at $1200 that would be stealing it. I agree on the crown being the weakest point of entry for moisture.
