  • Thank you Tkite...every man should have at least one good suit.

I was given the heads up to expect a package, but what I got in the mail was a seriously large box. I was only able to get around to opening it this past evening just before my work shift. I'm floored and very grateful to you, Tkite for the suit...wetsuit that is. Will be perfect when I get to the open water portion.

I took off the Doxa which has become an almost daily wear and snapped a couple of pics with the cell phone before heading out to work tonight...

Thank you again! I am ever amazed at the kindness and generosity here on this forum. Thank you!

I figured it would fit - you need it down there with the cold atlantic waters. A 6mm suit is bulky, but warm. I hope it serves you well and you're welcome!

          What a wonderful gesture.

In vaguley related news, I finished my cert dives today and am now officially an Open Water scuba diver. I would have enough time, barely, to get my Advance Open Water certification but there are other things I want to do as well. I will just fit in a few dives anyway. I have already seen some pretty cool things too.

Awesome Henry, I am also looking forward to hearing more about your adventures. You're in Canada I believe.... Can you say Dry Suit?

Whoa, 6mm. I still have one 6mm suit that I hope to never wear again. Sold my drysuits long ago. I have three full suits that I use at work, they are 0.5mm, 1.5mm and 3mm. I use them all depending on what season it is and dive duration. Last night I was in the water for almost 8 hours so I used the 3mm. Here in Hawaii that is all I need. This is my favorite suit the 0.5mm.

I bought that 6mm suit thinking I might need it one day, but I never did. When it was cold we just used Hot Water to our suits (commercial). Kevin can use it as he's just getting his diving certification and he's probably going to be doing some cold water scuba.

I am diving tomorrow and since I have been certified I will take a camera. Then I'll tell you the cool things I didn't get pictures of on my four cert dives.

I hear the lake they do the cert dives in from the dive shop I did my course work and confined space dives with is "warm" enough, barely, to do in an 8/7 wetsuit with hood, gloves and boots. In summer. No thanks. Much more fun doing the dives in Jamaica.

Lots of drysuit guys up here for sure.

Henry since you like photograpy, you should consider investing in a double hose regulator - all the bubbles go out behind your head.

The best, modern double hose unit is the Kraken. I am sure all the divers on this forum will secretly want one - I don't make it a secret, I wish I had one and were near some water to do some nice scuba (Vince, eat it up you're in Hawaii LOL). This guy is a HUGE Sea Hunt fan, now retired but he has a lot of good videos on YouTube for you to check out:

Thanks T. I'll watch those videos when I return home. And thanks for the advice on regs.
