igh End :

Low-end :
Emporio Armani
Toywatch
Android
Lacoste
Diesel

Personally I think Hermes watches are well made, a little overpriced for what you're paying but you have to buy into the hype of Hermes brand. It's a very fashionable, yet classy watch to have, but I wouldn't spend my money on the other brands like LV, Gucci or Chanel.

For the mid-range, Momo Design, Brera, Breil, Welder and Officina del Tempo seem to be really unique in design and you will have to pay the price for them. Again, overprice but you'll have to buy the design novelty, and you can be sure no PP, Rolex, or real watch manufacturers will ever give you the kind of bold, twisted, funky yet high quality designs that these guys offer, with some exception among the new Zenith and Hublot Big Bang recent designs.

Still I think they're excellent designed watches if you have money to spend.

On the low end of the scale, I bought into the hype of those Toywatches and they sure sung a lot when you have them on the wrist more so than the real Rolexes (I have the Submariner version), the Emporio Armani provides a good value for the money when you take design into consideration alone, movement talks aside of course. Nixon also had some cult followers among the hypsters in the last few years, although they scream "I am a cool surfer dude looks."

Among all of these brands, which ones do you think can justify a well money spent ?

And.... even if you have to register, this post is worth the trouble. I have never seen many of the Seikos or Citizens, way cool watches. Plus, a fine selection of some of our DWF faves. I think you'll dig it. Yes, I really think so.
Mind you this game will never work for new pieces(ie retail) as the answer will always be no lol-- but if its used or nos perhaps.
This one is a no for me.
I wouldnt pay that much for this seiko as nice as it is. Its not true vintage yet but rather a heritage piece re-released in 500 pieces.

Hello all:

I am hopefully a couple of weeks away from being able to pull the trigger on a new addition to the herd (everyone please wish me luck on an upcoming big case). Some may recall my earlier post about wanting a white faced watch and leaning to the Explorer II.

With Rolex making the changes to the sub this year, I am seriously considering going for a sub date. I know this is a favorite on this forum and I have lusted after it for years as well. Problem is I have a titanium Seamaster that I love. I worry whether I will regularly wear both the Sub and the SMP since they are so similar in function. I also worry that the Sub is a bit more blingy than I am used to. I like the fact that no one has ever recognized my SMP. I like the Explorer II as it appears to be a stealth Rolex.

So - question for discussion:

Would you have two grail watches that are relatively similar in function and appearance or would you add a little diversity to the collection??

some of the new Delma pieces. As I recall, one of my first posts on EOT was about Delma and their limited series of Klondike watches that used older movements for a limited line of watches that were unlike the quartz piece the company was known for. Apparently the idea was to let their watchmakers shine. Anyway, seems now they have gone more mainstream with their automatics- eta and such but I do like the looks.
There are a few more models and many variations including most on steel as well as dial color variations. Nothing ground breaking but some nice case shapes and dials.

I hate cell phones.
I am stupefied by those who walk out their front door and immediately call people.
I am fed up with those who spend their entire trip to the store on the phone discussing minutiae of the lowest degree with their friends on the phone.
I am terrorized by those texting while driving (yeah, I see a LOT of them).

I have one ONLY because work MAKES me. It is my 24/7 leash to on-call doom.

With all that in mind... this tries to merge artisan craftsmanship with the devil himself.
I just don't get it.
