I recently purchased a beautiful original Cyma 1940's British military WWW wrist watch.
Now I wonder if someone of you could help me any further, as I am looking for the (original?) era strap that would have been the type attached to the watch at the time it was released. What would have been the type of strap it was issued with in WWII?
Does anyone of you have any clear idea about the type of strap?
And if so, who then could maybe supply me with such a strap?
Or, if an original is an impossibility, a real good reproduction or look-alike?
As close to the original as possible: Would e.g. a DH type strap be appropriate?
I would appreciate any answer or advice, very much
Thanks and with kind regards,
Roy Villevoye, Amsterdam

They probably originally came on a pigskin strap, but Jurgen Hauff sells these straps with a screw to close them. Great vintage millitary look. Email him at info@s-parts.de

Thanks a lot for your fast response and advice.
Do you think there excists a plain strap as well? I don't feel to excited about the bolts, actually...

Right away googled a bit with the keyword piskin watch strap and found a dealer who give me a convincing advice that I could thrust.
So bought a repro flat pigskin strap that indeed looks as close as the roiginal must have been looking at the time the CYMA watch was issued.
Thanks a lot for the advice Tyler EOT,
Kind regards,
Roy

When you get it all together. It's a great piece of history.

Hello Tyler,
Sorry, I was out and found your mail just now.
Find attached the Cyma WWW I bought, and also the adviced pigskin strap.
I ordered the black one. They are Swiss made repro's and have an open end.
You can attach the strap with a metal kind of splitpen.
The dealer is Farfo.

Roy

This guy: "E. G. Nimmer" (milwatchnut@earthlink.net) has some really nice Vintage issue goatskin flight jacket straps in the USA.
