Hello all,
Here's an item I'd like to share. This belongs in my family and is in the possession of an older cousin of mine. It's an 1800s Joseph Johnson fusee watch made in Liverpool. The dial is 3-color (white, yellow & pink) 18k gold with fancy engraving & appliqués. The case is rather fancy also.

This has an unusual movement for a Jos. Johnson watch. most have the balance wheel atop a full plate, but this is a 3/4-plate movement:

One of these days, I'll have to pin down the year of manufacture based upon the hallmarks:

I hope you enjoyed this.
Let's see your old PWs!

Cheers,
Brad

Yep...because I don't have one. I took these photos when I was sending that watch out for repair and doing some research. Unfortunately, when it was returned to me in running condition, I forgot to take more movement shots!

I'll ask my cousin to photograph it...

This one is pretty beautiful. Joseph Johnson was active in between 1810 - 1850.
Serial no. 5190 should be from around the 1820s.
I saw a couple of those with similar cases before, mostly high quality movement. cost around $600 - 800.
Good decision to have it serviced. May i ask how much did it cost for cleaning?

On one a week or so ago on the BAY.......This one was a Silver sunburst sorta and two-tone Gold numerals and leafing dial. Not a Johnson though. Now I only wish I put that extra few dollars up for bid!!!!! This watch is truly gorgeous!!!!! I do not own a Pocket watch yet.....Only the 2 cimier pendants I posted on this forum last week......Next purchase Guys, Next prurchase I promise.
