This NCC 101 has an interesting engraving on the case back (where the ref. # and seahorse logo should be.:

I wonder if this was a factory engraved watch provided as a prize (preis) in 1976 for some sort of competition in Zurich. "Dietikon" is a district in Zurich.

Unusual!

Here is my only NCC so far. I am a man of moderate means so this one definately shows its age. Overall though it is in reasonable condition.
I love the styles of the NCC series. There was a fellow on the Bay selling NOS NCCs and other Rados. He was getting upwards of $750 for them but they were just unbelievable. I wanted so bad to get one but on my budget I settled for a far less expensive Rado Trident. I will get an NCC101 someday. Gotta Love It.
Peace,
Scott

It looks only as though it would require a little polishing in order to be very nice, indeed.

Here's a dial shot of the watch I posted above:

It appears nearly identical to this one from 1971 or so:

Hey everyone,

The NCC101 is special in in its own right and the one shown there even more so as it was never a retailed, I would certainly say it is worth something given the history. Well spotted Brad, Dietikon is a canton in Switzerland.

I would expect these would fetch about $300 to $400 depending on the wind on the auction site. Condition dependent ofcourse. Can anybody concur?

Kind regards,
Jay

Hey Scott,

You NCC is a really sharp early example. Original bracelet and all, it's got so much going for it. Like Brad says, it just needs a polish and a bit of TLC, I particularly like the blue stripe across the center of the dial, one of the earlier dial styles with the dial/hour baton ring. Later examples were as pictured with the fishtail bracelet as Brad has shown in the Rado NCC101 ad. I did come across one with a orange stripe one, wish I had taken a photograph of it, might have to contact the new owner about it and get him to get us a snap shot!

Crystals and waterproof gaskets are available for these if you look hard enough. 15 minutes with a Dremel/Cape Cod cloth to the case and a good old soak in hot soapy water to the bracelet followed by the Dremel/Cape Cod treatment to it, will get this beauty gleaming again.

You've got an amazing NCC101 there.

Kind regards,
Jay

This is a very old thread. You may want to repost this as a new thread.
If you have any pictures of the watch you may want to post those as well.
Welcome to the forum and I look forward to future posts.
Peace,
Scott
