I was invited here by Brad; don't know him personally, but I'm sure glad he invited me here as I was unaware of this wonderful place. I searched high and low for a Rado forum and could never find one.

In my collection I have two rado divers. The new Rado "THE HULK" diver and the 2002 Asian re-edition of the "Capitan Cook" without the designated name, but obviously the same all around design.

Here are some pics, enjoy!

Wow! That modern Captain Cook is great! Having not seen one in person yet, I'm hesitant to criticize the lugs on the new DiaStar Originals, but I think (this is a radical departure from my normal position) that I prefer the lug-less versions, such as my vintage models.

Regardless, they are both fabulous...and that DiaStar-meets-Captain-Cook is very appealing. I had no idea it was available. Thanks for dropping by, CS!
Cheers,
Brad

Brad...

Thanks for inviting me!

Sadly, this Captain Cook was made in very low quantities and only for the Asian market. Originally, I bought two, back in 2002 (if my mind serves me right). I sold them, shortly there after (I was under the impression that the line would be around for some time) and when I called my original seller (in Singapore) he could not get one anywhere. He then told me that he wished he had kept one for himself when they where available. I was fortunate enough to get this one on the world's market place (the bay).

If you noticed the Captain Cook is lug-less and I had the same feeling as you about the new lugs. As a matter of fact, it took a few days to get use the them. However, somehow, I now prefer the new design as it fits ones wrist beautifully. Try one and see!
