Hey guys.... I really like this watch and am thinking about bidding on it. Do any of you have any pros or cons to offer up regarding this Seiko 6309 diver? 150m water resist, Seiko Auto mov't, cushion case - which I really like. Give me some feedback, and help a brotha out.

Great watches they are! Original bezel insert should be all black however. Looks good on the watch though!

I think the bezel insert should be black, not the Pepsi as in the picture. The case looks pretty good though.

I really like mine--I get alot of comments when I wear it. It runs a little fast, but what do you expect for a 30 year old watch.

I say go for it--I don't think you'll be disappointed.

As noted the bezel insert should be black. From what can be seen the case looks decent. I really like the second hand with the dot tip better than the current models with the dot on the wrong end.

I keep pondering getting one also, if I was just not so set on finding my snorkel, lol. There is a seller in the PI on Ebay who sells a lot of those, most seem to be parts jobs from what I have seen. He seems to come up with an unusualy high number of Suwas too.

This is a nice reference page for Seiko divers.

I saw that one. The bezel and dial look aftermarket, so as long as you don't pay more than around $100 it's a cool 6309 beater. The case looks to be in good shape and I like that bezel. Looks cool, just not original.

Here's a link you should check out if you ever want to find an original one: http://www.network54.com/Forum/78440/message/1138639790/HOW+TO+BUY+A+SEIKO+6309+DIVER+(Belongs+in+FAQ

Seems to me that the dial is not original Seiko, but an aftermarket replacement dial. The bezel has the notorious incorrect numeral "1" in the 10, meaning is is almost certainly aftermarket as well. You can't tell from the detail available in the picture, but if the dial and bezel are aftermarket, you should look closely at the hands as well, as those could have been replaced also.
