Another NCC101 project watch. Also on a Rado band, stainless steel with a gold dial, and long date.

The dial looks ok, but it isn't perfect. It's main problem is the movement. My local watchmaker reported the automatic section didn't work.

The watch worked when I took it to him, so long as I manually wound it. That is no longer the case - which is why I don't take any watches to him any more. He handed the rotor to me in a small bag, which I can't find.

(Wednesday, 12/16)
I was able to pop the gold dial NCC101 open. The movement is a 2798.
Please don't flame me, Gents. I'm not a watchmaker, but it's cool to see an automatic watch running without a rotor. She wants to run, even without all her parts.

Sorry, but I did not have time to take pictures. Kids will do that to you.

This is the first time I've had this watch open. The screw and case came apart well. The gasket has about a 1/4 inch tear, and sits down pretty well - but torn is torn.

I did not play around with the stem or stem tube, and was able to advance the time, day and date w/no problems. The date flipped over smoothly.

There is some texture on tiny parts of the dial. I would want to know, so I'm sharing with you.

I sincerely hope this information helps.

If you're handy with watches, and I know you are, this one is available for $100, after shipping.

To avoid any confusion about shipping...
Tracking for domestic shipping (inside the US), for a three day delivery is pretty cheap. Somewhere around $10.
Tracking and insurance for International shipping (outside the US) costs more. Somewhere around $25.

There is one open query regarding this NCC101, which will be honored.
Should that query fall through, this watch will be reclaimed and sent along to the watchmaker.
Please consider this thread closed.
Thanks,
Steve

...to her new home.

She should be prowling about on Wednesday.
It seemed the proper thing to do, given the Season.
