Sometimes you get your hopes up. Sometimes you are left disappointed.

I just heard a nice radio ad for the above-mentioned watch. The ad went into detail how the Bulova watch was used in WWII and had a "special hack mechanism" to stop the watch for accurate synchronization. Then it said Bulova was reintroducing this watch in a limited edition.

I fear that it's quartz, based mostly on the MSRP of $150. But I didn't explicitly see it say the movement was quartz anywhere.

Ghost Soldiers, by Hampton Sides. It's a really good read about the truly miraculous liberation of the POW's who'd survived Bataan. Then see the movie. Then get the watch, it looks great, even if it is quartz.

I wore it for many years back in the 60's. I found it in the locker room at a pool where I was a lifeguard. At the end of the season, it was still there, and I claimed it. Found it in a box of old stuff when we moved.

off the top of my head. Here's the back (I don't have the correct tool to remove it).

You heard a readio ad for a watch? This sounds promising. I haven't heard radio ads for anything very interesting in years... car dealerships, roofing companies, supermarkets, all the good stuff.:)

Wow, that's really something!

Hello,

Came upon this two weeks ago on some site. Further research indicated it was quartz. Nothing wrong with that, but for that price, you can get the Benrus already mentioned.
